I got a major electrical fault with my 2001 passat done 79K No Central Locking, Elec' Windows, Elec' Mirrors, and A/C

No water in foot-well all dry wiring looks A1 condition checked fuses

My Key Fob (3 button) only Opens the Boot and Arm/disarms the Alarm but doesn't lock/unlocks the doors

I used VAG-COM which tell me that there is NO Communication with the CCM but CCM looks Fine Wiring looks A1 condition as well

Question: I been told to check if the CCM has failed, Get replacement CCM and plug it in all should work but you wont be able to use key fob function. Is this True?

Question: I hear that the CCM will need to be Reprogrammed, Why does it need reprogramming is it so it can recognize the Key Fob.

If lets the case I read that you can do it your self by inserting one key in the ignition "on" position without stating engine and by inserting the other key in the drivers door turning it to the locking position at the same time press and hold lock button on the fob for 5 seconds and then do the same to other key.

I love to know what you think and any advise in solving this nightmare any hidden fuses or relays which might be at fault.

Now Fixed tuned out to be a Circuit board burned out on the passenger rear door window motor cause of all the above problems. replaced window motor cost of £50 fitted from breakers, VW price £325

I don't think this a ccm fault as such. Check your fuses again, especially 30 amp fuse on relay plate under drivers dash/footwell. (don't just check the fuse, clean the terminals) Can you detail EXACTLY what isn't working. For instance the drivers door unit controls The window, door lock/unlock, mirror adjustment, mirror heating and via switches, the functions in all the other doors, depending on model. So you could have 4 faulty door control units, but my money is on the drivers door unit being faulty. SO first establish...Has the drivers door got power. Goodluck.

Have you got a spare key?

When I put a new CCM in my passat I had to resync the keys to the car.

    If I remember correctly you
1 put spare key in ignition and turn so dash lights up
2 lock the door with the key holding 'unlock button'
3 unlock the door with key still 'holding unlock'
    4 open the drivers door
    5 remove key from ignition
    6 close door
    7 try lock/unlock from fob
8 if that works do the other way round to sync other keys

    Hope that helps

What isn't working-- from Driver door control unit, Mirror switch with heater function all windows switches + door locks (except Driver Door which can be locked/unlocked by switch and boot and fuel switches work) + back light for switches don't work+ On All the Other doors the windows switches don't work+ Remote Fob won't lock/unlock

when I disconnect and the reconnect the battery all windows work via each door switch for a few minutes before they die on me but on driver door only the driver window works and I can not control the other 3 windows.

The passenger and offside rear door are dead locked and cannot be opened the n/side rear door wasn't dead locked and be opened

Looks like driver door unit ok and power supply ok, if windows work for short time. I think the can-bus communication between the ccm and the other modules has failed. This means that either the ccm is faulty, which is odd as it still works alarm and opens boot, or wires are damaged. I would have a much closer look at the wires to the ccm. Unwrap them as much as you can. The can-bus wires are thin and easily damaged. Damaged wires would also explain why you can't communicate with the ccm using vag-com. The can-bus wires are orange/brown and orange/lilac (could be orange/green).

Thanks I will check the wiring again it's a bit difficult to have a real good look because I can't open the passenger door.
