Hi, new(ish) on here and have a couple of questions...

I've had a Bora PD130 for the past few years, and it's starting to get to the stage where it needs a few things doing...

    1) Front Pads and Discs - From reading around, I believe that the PD130 has 288mm discs on the front, and an upgrade to 312mm is possible. What hasn't been clear is whether I just need carriers and discs, or whether I also need bigger calipers?... Any advice appreciated.

    2) Front ARB bushes - Again, from reading around there seem to be a number of bushes that may need doing at the front end which I would get done at the same time. Would I be correct in saying that an upgrade to TT rear wishbone bushes is fairly common? Is there anything else that it would be sensible to do at the same time?

Other than these few things (and rear axle bushes) it's been fantastic...I've done 100k miles in just under 3 years and it's never put a foot wrong....time to treat her to a little TLC.

Again, any advice appreciated, thanks for taking the time to read!

    Dave

    Welcome to the forum!!

I can answer yours brakes question as I have just uprated mine from the 288s to the 312s last weekend. The standard caliper is perfect as the 312 uses the same brake pads as the 288s. All you need is the bigger carriers( i got mine of a tt in a breakers for 60 quid) and then the bigger discs. I got bremos off gsf and standard pads. The breaking is now much sharper I have to say and the bigger discs just look the biz i reckon.

Oh youl also need the bigger brake pad retaining spring as I found out during the fittting. This is because it has to fit over the bigger carrier I went back and got these yesterday but have been driving without them for the last 2 weeks or so.

Its a very easy job to complete and a well worth upgrade providing you have a 130 or 150 pd tdi as these are then only tdis with the fn3 calliper....

Replacing with standard rubber bushes from VW is perfectly adequate. I had powerflex bushes put into my wishbones. They cost more, and made no improvement at all.

With regard to rear bushes, stay well away from Powerflex, and stick to rubber ones.

Thanks very much for the replies! One final question..does the 312mm disc upgrade still fit behind standard 16in alloys?

    Thanks
