hi, thanks for moving this to the correct section, as for the car, it feels as though it is only selecting 3rd if i push foward and 4th backwards ( it still selects 3rd if i put the stick in reverse ), cant find any other gears.. the clutch is fine, still moves in third pulling foward. neutral is fine ... thanks for the help.. ian

Hi, on top of the gearbox are the shift selctor cables, there should be two of them, on the end of these are two plastic connection boxes, these go brittle and break over time and you normally lose 1st, 3rd and 5th or 2nd 4th (6th if applicable) and reverse. The plastic connectors are around £10 and to replace them will take around 45 mins.

    Hi All,
Does the apply in a case where its hard to get into 3rd gear. All gears go in but difficult to engage all gears in general. There is no play when in gear and no noises....

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Jay

How do you mean adjust the gear stick. Do you mean the cables?
