I bought a 3 year old A4 2.0T SLine and 2 days AFTER the warranty ran out (1 year dealer warranty) the airbag light has just come on. Is there anything I can check myself before taking it in to be looked at (and no doubt costing me a fair few quid) or any known problems with airbags on the B7 A4?

    Thanks,

    Paul

I've got a similar problem. luckly my 2005 A4 is under warrenty (dealer 1 yr jobby).

I have to pay £17 for a cable (not covered in extended warrently apparantly) and they are also replacing the slip ring.

Orginally they were going to try and charge me £320, until I argued that a slip ring is not cabling. They had to go back to Audi UK to confirm and finally got back to me saying I was correct.

Mines booked in next week for the work.

    Auroan,
Thanks for info, I have similar issue with my drivers seat airbag as checked on viacom but took to dealer for double check.
Robbing so & so told me can only by the whole airbag assembly, having worked on car R&D I know that the wire is the weak part. Do you know part numbers of the wiring loom that you had replaced.

Not yet, car hopefully gets fixed (on the third attempt by York Audi ) I doubt they will give me the part number of the replaced item.

But I am going to ask for the broken bits back.....
