hi i have bought a W8 interior for my B5 and am after a little help from somebody who may have done this before.

Im told the airbag side of the seat is fairly easy to sort, and if i want to just get the seats to move electrically i need to just wire up a feed to the seats, what i want to know is do i need a relay for this? and should it only work when the ignition is on.

As the seats are memory as well. i am told if i just put a feed to the seats this side of things wont work.

How dificult is it to ge thre seats wired in so they work properly with the memory function, or is it a major job to get working,

then i need to think about getting the heating side of things working.

My local alarm guy has told me he can wire in the seats to the fuse box with a relay for about £40 but was unsure about the memory side.

Can anyone help with this. on further hunting i have found this site which sells a loom for this but doesnt give a wireing diagram

any help would be really apreciated.

You don't need a relay you can take power via a fuse from the relay plate. Is the memory unit part of the seat. If it is, it should have two power feeds. One small wire to power the memory unit and a big 2.5mm feed for the motors. Main power feed should be ignition controlled with a slowblow thermal fuse, otherwise it will blow as the motors start. I would test the seat with a spare battery before trying to fit it. Goodluck.
