I have a Bora on a 02 plate, with a GAMMA Head Unit, and a 6 disc changer in the boot. When I press CD on the head unit I get the message CD ERROR, then a beep and the unit tries the next disc, this repeats for all six. Have tried new discs, and alternate carriage. Any ideas, or is the multi changer dead?

    Cheers

In the spirit of 'If you can't fix it with a hammer, it's an electrical fault', give it a good whack.

This can often 'fix' sprung/anti vibration mounted changer 'CD-ERR' problems.

I had the same problem on my in dash changer when I bought the car.
I managed to fix it by removing the changer and opening it up, I cleaned the laser and used a very small amount of 3in1 oil on the cd changer mechanism.
I used a cotton bud soaked in the oil to get into the cogs and gears, after this the changer started working and has been ok since.

Might have just been lucky but it's worth a try...
