if thats an inch , you must be hung like a store horse or have bad eye sight , i'd say its more like 10mm max.

so you either will be left with a 10 mm step cut out of the new pads immediatly and that will be your brake face untill it catches up thats 10mm per pad making contact , wont take long to rub it down like 10 minutes or so , mine has the correct pads fitted and has a 2mm lip . or you can try and rub that lip off as advised earlier then fit new pads.

i take it you measured the lip at 12mm

One less thing to worry about now::

I am ordering new pads now.

My bloody passenger door has now developed an issue. The Alarm fob will close it, but from the inside it will shut with others when you push the door close button, but it jumps open again!!

This evening after work it would not operate the central locking manually when i stuck a key in. It just locked itself mechanically

    Crazy car

I'm well used to this crunching/knocking sound after two and a half years with my 52 plate 2.0 SE. Drives me bloody mad and no one else can hear it...the wife has just picked up on it.

I've had it checked by anyone who'll have a look, the last bloke checked it while I held his labrador FFS!

One thing they all agree on is that there's nothing wrong. The car handles great, apart from the above noise when accelerating/braking/cornering.

    Bloody hun technology.

    Thats the thing!

We have had three so definately I can sympathise here. If there is no play in the wheels when you jack the thing up Then the only things i can think of are Bushes. I have been pondering whether to get me some powerflex bushes on my anti roll bar.
