Hi i have a 90bhp p reg tdi and just need to know for sure what the differences are between the 90bhp and 110bhp tdi models? ive been told injectors and turbos? what size are the 90bhp nozzles stock and the 110bhp? what power should a remap get me realisitically? what would i need to do to get around 140bhp? Cheers

    Hiya mate,
i think it's as you've said injectors/diff turbo. if yours is 90bhp you will get 35bhp with a power remap..

Cheers so you think with just a chip you could get my car to 125bhp? so would that not involve bigger injectors and would you need a remap after installing bigger injectors anywya? cheers

With larger nozzles, upgraded turbo, calibrated 3bar MAP sensor and a remap you can easily get around 160-180bhp.

If you want to push the power on a VE engine to these levels, you will need a stronger clutch. (probably at 140bhp too, unless its remapped to save the clutch)

Larger nozzles alone are only good for 2-3bhp.

You can run much bigger nozzles without remapping, but will not see much power gain.

Always get a road/rolling road remap that is based on your own mapping, not a generic remap.

You will need to get your ECU socketed to remap your P reg, probably plcc32 sockets. (an electronics firm did mine for free)

Here is a list of standard nozzle sizes. (generally only buy Bosch or Bosio nozzles)

ok cheers for that info it looks like mine will be .184 then? if im right, so to avoid damaging anthing is it worth just getting a remap? and would i actually notice just the remap itself?

A remap is the most noticeable power gain you can buy, whether you have upgraded any hardware or not.

The best power gain per £ spent would be a used 8pin tuning box from ebay for around £50.

A tuning box just plugs inline between the fuelpump connector, and makes the car inject for a slightly longer duration, some of the boxes with more than one adjustment screw also have a wire to the air mass meter.

    More fuel = more power
