boost.... what boost???

Hello boys and girls,


im here to find an Audi TDi expert..... (or atleast someone who has the answer i need to stop my dad moaning about his car)



he has an Audi 80 TDi (registered 96 (N))

a while ago he was experiencing intermitant boost where he would have to rev it hard to make it boost, once it had started it was fine for the duration of the journey... then it just stopped all together....



since then ive had it on a mates Snap-on ETHOS management reader - no faults logged...


so ive changed the following parts:


-Second hand turbo & matched actuator ( i was told it came from a working car)
-Air mass meter (New / Pierburg)
-Boost control valve (the original had 3 pipes - one from compressor housing / one to actuator / one from or to air inlet pipe) but the genuine replacement only has 2 and a breather...
-Top boost hose (as it had a split in it)
-All small bore boost hoses


ive also removed all the intercooler hoses and intercooler and checked it for splits/cracks - nothing to report so i cleaned it out and refitted it



im out of ideas now and im considering a gallon of petrol ....
