When the car was started up from cold, i could hear this slight knock from the engine, put the clutch down and it stopped, brought it up again and it was knocking again...

Once it was warm and we opened the bonnet, there was no knock...

    Is this the DMF failing??
If so, how much are parts going to cost me???

    Cheeers

Its about £270 for a full kit, DMF and new clutch. Cost me £500 inc parts and labour in total. Mine failed at 156,000. The difference is emence once you get a new one installed.

Well, on mine I found In was losing power for some reason but after having it done it was smoothed out so much felt like I got the response back! Having the new clutch made a difference too. Pedal is nice and smooth now. The flywheel on mine was totally nackered. Managed to get a look at it when he took it out. Worth a look. Does yours knock when you slightly depress the clutch pedal down? Thats how mine started you could feel vibration through the pedal then at high torguw at low revs it used to vibrate like hell!
