Please help. I have just bought a Mark 4 Golf. I tried to install my stereo from my old car that works 100%. It does not work inside the golf. There is no power at all going to the unit.

    Some help would be good.

    Cheers

Firstly try your old radio back in the car, if this works all power feeds must be o.k, obviously if its doesn't work you've probably got a blown fuse.

Be careful when connecting a different unit into a VW, ISO plugs may phyiscally fit but they are wired diferently. The original unit required an extra 12v feed that is located above the illumination feed (IT SHOULD SAY THIS ON A STICKER ON THE ORIGINAL RADIO, MARKED SAFE).

This 12v "safe" feed is located on the new radio where the electric aerial output is (generally a blue cable), this is an output so putting 12v into your new radio may cause it to blow.
