I took delivery of my RS6 in March. Have to say I've had a couple of problems and wondered if there is anything common out there or if I have a 'Friday afternoon' car.

    • The First issue happened about 3 days from takinging delivery. To cut a long story short a coolant pipe burst behind the engine... just a 6 inch long half inch diameter pipe. The curious part with this one was the machanic seemed to dive stright to where the pipe was even though it was not evident. I suspect this was nothing new to him.

    • The next issue I had - apart from a nail in the tyre with no spare but a liquid to fix/re-inflate, an arrangement I don't like at all - is that upon smelling burning electrics, the dash went dead along with the aircon. I managed to get it home but subsequently the car wouldn't start. This has ultimately been described by Audi Germany as a dash pod thermal incident! Also it seems there are no replacement pods in the uk so I have a 2 week wait for repair.

About the only positive experience with the latest problem is that I was given free Audi recovery with the car. All it took was 1 phone call and the wheels went into motion very smoothly. Admittedly the hire car I've been given isn't an RS6 but it is an A8 so something I can live with - have to say it's something I'll pay for when it expires.

My dealer sold 4 4f rs6 no issues at all,in fact they are superb. The dash is manual order as it is part of the anti theft system hence 2 weeks.Lucky with the coolant pipe as this engine requires removing for almost any repair (scary stuff)

Indeed. Have to say love the car but having had a number of Audi's didn't expect reliability issues

Disgusted. Ask Audi UK for a replacement new car. I am not impressed, even if if this request is a fall back situation if more problems crop up. Regards Peter

Audi did that on the A2s. I very much dislike that as well. I find it rather disappointing they have kept with that idea.
