I have just discovered that i have two broken rear coil springs( approx 2 1/2" of bottom) Not sure whether to just replace with standard, uprage all springs or upgrade to a sports kit.
My problem is this....have upgraded a car in the past and absoloutly kille the ride comfort. Not too keen on lowering neither.
Has anyone had upgraded? what too? and what is the ride etc like?

Audi 110 tdi se 1999 saloon

    Cheers Steve

I would upgrade the shocks and add H&R race springs but if you already have sport shocks then just add the springs.

Been considering upgrades myself for my 1999 2.4. Is this option as good as the koni coilovers i've had recommended. If so how much hard earned cash would i have to part with

It’s a little harder mainly on speed ramps as it less forgiving but I clear 98% of them without too much fuss but the stance and handling is greatly improved.

Coilovers is always the best way to go as you can adjust height and stiffness so giving you loads more options, have a look at FK top of the range set-up as I here its cheap and works well.

How would doing it any another way affect the engine's functionality?

    Hi Guys,
I have a A4 Avant 2.4 tip 1999, we have just bought a caravan and the rear of the car is really low when towing - I have spoken to my local independant Audi dealer who recomends fitting heavy duty rear springs, do you have any thoughts on this ? also whilst the car is in bits is there anything else I should be replacing ie suspension rubbers etc etc.. ( the car has covered 126k )

    Thanks

    Rob
