Can anyone tell me where the alarm system (more specifically the battery unit) is. Maybe even a description of what it looks like. I have just ripped out the trim in the boot looking for it to replace the battery and can only find the vacuum pump for the central locking. A bunch of diagrams would be v useful. Cheers Paddy

If it's not in the boot then it's probably under the battery.
Or you could set it off and chase it down.... :-))

Sorry should've put more info in. The alarm horn was definately in the rear drivers side area (I tracked it earlier when it was going off repeatedly) when I took the car to a mechanic he said there was nothing he could do except disconnect the horn, since then and after a lot of searching i have diagnosed a possible discharged alarm battery/faulty horn. just need an exact position. Cheers anyway

Hi, The horn/battery is on the vary rear right hand side behind
the rear side panel. Its right down in the well bit, fastened in with a screw on a bracket. its quite hard to see , but its the only thing in there.(it's basically a little siren) Did you say you got a replacement? My started acting up, thats basically why i know where it is.(just disconnected it)
    Hope this helps, Steve

IT'S ABOUT 4 X 3" (BLACK) iF YOU TAKE OUT THE TRIANGULAR HOLDER THING.. REMOVE ALL THE BLACK CLIPS AND PULL THE OSR PANEL FORWARD OR TOTALLY OUT, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE SPONGE IN THE WELL. CAN'T REMEMBER IF YOU NEED TO MOVE THIS. BUT THE SIREN IS DOWN THERE, NO TOO EASY TO SEE, THERE SHOULD BE A 10MM BOLT HOLDING A GOLD BRACKET WITH THE SIREN ON. PROBABLY BEST TO FOLLOW ANY WIRES IN THAT AREA AND SEE WHERE THEY LEAD TOO, ONE WILL BE THE ONE YOUR AFTER. AGAIN ITS NOT REALLY OBVIOUS BUT THERES NOT MUCH ELSE DOWN THERE...NOT SURE ABOUT THE PUMP, CAN'T REMEMBER SEEING THAT...SORRY

Really sorry what triangular thing, do you mean the carpeted stowage on the RH side as you look into the boot, I removed that, underneath is a foam covered vacuum pump. I have lifted that out and there is nothing else down there. I am looking just under the light cluster is it further forward?

yeah, i'm sure its a bit further forward, it sits about floor level, under the lip that you can see, i'm sure its not viable to the eye. run your hand from the back to the front under teh seam/lip area. you should be able to feel it.

you need to be running you hand from the lights towards the front of the car, i.e the spare wheel side. if you're on the wheel arch you on the opposite side to what you need to be. its the side nearer you.
