Hi - Could anyone tell me how to check and top up gear oil on my 2003 T4. The handbook tells me to check through a plug on the side of the transmission but i can't find one.

I know nothing about the T4 but assuming it is front wheel drive and the engine is of a transverse layout; most filler / level plugs on VW transmissions are just above where the driveshaft comes out of the box.

Look for a 17mm (ish) hexagon allen key type plug.

But as I say, I know nothing about T4's, what I've said is typical for most VW cars though.
