Does anyone know if range rover wheels will fit the T5 - if so is it a straight fit?

    Cheers!

    Hi Christban,

    Just read your thread.

Not really trying to fit rangerover wheels, but being an owner of both a Classic and p38, i can confirm that even rangerover's have more than one fitment of wheels (between wheel nuts - the PCD)

So in total honesty - i would have thought that an understanding of the type or RR wheels you are looking at, and an understanding of the VW wheel nut diameters (PCD) would be the first key areas to start.

and that's before we start to look at fouling wheel arches (inner and outer)

Sorry - the info above may not completely answer your question, but both points are valid - I think!

I do still have an old set of Classic Wheels which i can measure at the weekend, and a P38 on the drive.

I think i will measure the PCD's and post them if anyone is interested!

As the man above says, let's see what wheels you're thinking of fitting and go from there.

T4 (presuming the T5 is similar if not the same) - see post below, T5 IS NOT the same as T4

    RR
    > 1995 PCD - 5 x 165.1
    1995 > - PCD - 5 x 120 centre bore of 70.0mm
    2002 > - PCD - 5 x 120, ET 35 and centre bore of 74.0mm

Sam... the T5 is 5x120 PCD. The stock T5 has an offset of 45, so wheels with offsets of 35 should JUST about be okay.

The T5 and T4 don't share the same PCD.

i've got to be honest, when replying, i did think why someone would want to fit RangeRover wheels to one of these.
although.... they probably would fit with adapted wide collared wheel nuts/bolts. <the bolt holes would be larger> 'i imagine'

I know why. Probably to do with cost.

Because T5 alloys with good tyres regularly sell for £400+ for standard 16" rims on eBay. If you want standard 17" rims, expect to pay £650+ instead.

Believe me I know, I've been scouring eBay for months in the hope of finding a cheaper set to no avail!

However, I do think Range Rover wheels would just look totally wrong.

Sorry - I should have been more specific. I meant Range Rover wheels from a sport or the current model. I know that the PCD is 120, its the offset thats the issue. I have conducted a bit of research into alloys for the T5, and my conclusion is that a staggered fit is the best bet - I have seen 20" Range Rover Sport alloys on a T5 and they look stupid as the fronts are too wide - thats assuming the wheels are the same allround! I have been looking into buying a set of 18's, the front 8" and the rear 9" - in my opinion the perfect balance, although it does depend on how you drive - I sometimes have to go on building sites, so i need a larger profile!

Most of my work is in Didsbury, Manchester, where there are the biggest kerbs known to man. For that reason, I'm sticking to 17s maximum on my T5.

Mind you, if there's anything cheap enough, I'll happily take 16s.
