    Just finished drying out carpets which necessitated removing driver's seat. How do you reset the airbag warning light without resorting to a VW garage visit?

    It can be done on VAG-COM (or VCDS as it is now known). You can buy a cable on Ebay for about £15 which should come with the free version of the program to load onto your computer - failing that have a look in the VCDS section to see if there is anyone near you who can help.

    The connectors below the front seats might of become loose or not reconnected properly. This happens on my Xsara, just unplug then replug them. Try that, if it doesn't cure it then just wait for more suggestions

    Buy an Autel VAG 405, just over £40 on ebay. Nice hand-held piece of kit, re-sets airbag light, also ABS & much more.
