    Hi,

Seeing pics of Damo's Passat with the chrome mirror covers has all but convinced me to get some for mine!

What I'd like to check is whether the sort that are available from eBay (I think they're plastic) are durable and chip resistant - and fall off due to only being secured with glue, etc?

They look similar to mine, cannot remember who I got mine from though!
Mine are held on by 3M Tape and they are on as tight as a submarine window!

Bear in mind that they are not complete covers, they cover all of the exterior of the mirror housing, but if you are inside the car and look through the mirror, you will still see the original paint 'inside' the mirror housing if you know what I mean!

I can post more pics if you are not sure, but they do look very good in my opinion

Now why did I never get chrome mirrors?

Damo - you do, however, need a chrome grill...

    James,
Did you not consider chroming the lower left and right grilles too (see this link from eBay which contains pics of those areas chromed: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VOLKS...Q5fAccessories)??

James, shame on you! Did you forget that I bought a grill off you a few weeks ago?

    Hey Damo,
I notice you also don't have chrome in the lower right and left grilles (where front fog lights would've been situated) - any particular reason for this (as the chrome grille kits I've seen on eBay - as per the link above - include chrome for these areas)??
I'd like to chrome all the grille areas but have front fogs - for which I haven't seen a kit yet (but have seen separate chrome trims for the fogs)...
