T4 2.5 TDI AJT rough running

Friend just had a 2nd hand engine fitted in his T4. It starts fine from cold and runs well but as it warms up it starts running quite rough. It drives superb and the power is all there and sounds lovely but idle is lousy. I heard that if the pump basic setting is out it affects the idle but the control unit changes the timing at anything over idle speed. is this correct. I suspect basic pump setting or pump as the new engine came with pump and injectors fitted. The old engine was fine and we know the old pump was good. Any suggestions jump to mind?

I'm new on here. I have what sounds to be the same problem and would be interested to know what the fault is if or when you fix it. I have had no luck with mine and put up with it at the moment as it only ever does it when idling and also is worse when warm. I too suspect something with the injection pump.

Well i ended up replaceing the injectors and pump off the old engine and it now runs like a dream. Does anyone know where I can download the TDI checker with AJT engine code included as my Vag Com TDI checker does not seem to have it.
