Guys, I'm really confused about Longlife servicing and whether it's worth it. I've been on the phone with my local audi dealer but all they said was it depends on your style of driving?

My car is currently on Longlife and due a service. I've been quoted £352 for a longlife service but looking at the rates on the audi site (link below) I could get a service for £99, but that means going back to yearly.

    http://www.audi.co.uk/audi/uk/en2/ow...i/pricing.html

Since I only do around 6000 miles a year and lots of short journeys I'm not sure which is the best type of service schedule but I do know I prefer spending £99 to £352. I guess I just posted to see if there's any reasons why I shouldn't go back onto yearly and to see if anyone can clarify what the best option is anyway.

I detest longlife, I love yearly.

If you're doing such low annual mileage, with mainly short trip journeys, yearly servicing would be best suited for both your car and pocket.

i use vag spec longlife oil and i will change it every 5000 miles or 6 months.
it costs £17 for the oil and £4 for the filter from my local motor factors.
it takes 30 minutes of your time every 6 month - 1 year to change the oil and filter and costs just £21 !
why you would consider paying audi over £300 is beyond me.
i would only pay them that if the car had afsh and i had a auto box audi that was still under warrenty with audi.
but the chance of me owning another automatic audi is extremely slim !
audi are trying to rip you off !!!

I'm assuming £352 covered more than just an oil change but like so many car owners I'm a slave to the stamp in the service book. Apart from special oil, what is the difference between longlife and yearly?
