A4 CLIMATE CONTROL

Can anyone point me in the right direction on a problem I am having with my 2001 Audi A4 climate control.
If I leave the car out of the garage overnight particularly when it's cold the fan will not work on the climate control when I start it in the morning. Then later on in the day it will start working perfectly.

So how did you get on?

Could it be that the climate control thermostat is limiting the fan to stop it blowing cold air into a cold car where the temp selected is higher?
Or is this a new problem?

In the end I went to Independent at Chandlers Ford, they initially thought it was a bad connection in the climate controller but that did not solve it. They isolated it to the fan which was expensive but they did not charge any labour as they didn't initially find the fault, you can't say fairer than that really. I have had no problems since and I will continue to recommend Independent as their service and friendliness is first class,
