I have recently replaced the front springs and shocks and the rear springs. A few days later when i brake firmly i can hear a sort of knock noise. I have had several people listen the general consensus is that it is definatly the nearside(passenger). But most say its from the middle piller. (between the two doors) and some believe its more towards the rear. I have heard it today when going over a harsh speed bump but when i turned round to get it to do it again it wont do it...... but breaking it does it 95% of the time. Totally baffeled! Any help appreciated.

i am thinking it could be coming from around the rear nearside door.... i know the locking mech in it is broken as i have to press the lock button about 3 times before it locks. I suppose it could be a symtom of a failing lock? Something swinging and about and clunking.... dunno.

thinking about it it does sqeek a bit when i am going over speed bumps. When the rear wheel comes down the speed bump and the little bit where the car carrys on going down then bobs up to level again. Someone eles told me it was probably rear axle bushes....

Long, tedious and requiring special tools but the bushes are cheap.
