For some reason, I've got no cold air anymore. The temp setting seems to work OK for heat but when selecting a lower temp (including LO), I just get the fan coming on faster and faster whilst blowing what I assume is air at the outside temperature.

OK, so I know something isn't working right and the question is, is this a warranty item for a car that's 18 months old?

I've never had a car that needed the aircon recharging, even after 5 years, so I'm wary of the local dealing being about to try and charge me silly money for a "consumable".

    Any idea's?

    Thanks.

Do you hear a clunk from the air con compressor when you switch on the air con? You'll maybe have to lift the bonnet and get someone to switch it on for you. If there's a clunk it's likely that the electro-magnetic clutch is engaging so that's a good sign. I can't help more, you'll need guages etc to confirm what pressure is in the system.

I finally got around to sorting this out. Took the car back to the dealer who confirmed it needed to be re-gassed. They apparently did a check with some kind of dye to see if there was an obvious leak, but found nothing.

The re-gas was under warranty, so I'm just hoping it doesn't need doing again in another18 months...............like after the warranty expires!
