Superchips Remap

Back from Superchips and a new engine map on my 2.0T Quattro.

Power
Before 229 bhp @ 5059 Rpm
After 255 bhp @ 5226 Rpm

Torque
Before 357 Nm @ 2008 Rpm
After 389 Nm @ 2446 Rpm

Not as big an increase as I or Superchips had hoped for. Superchips will be doing more work on the map before they release it as Bluefin and hopefully a mit more will come out of it.

Even though the increases were not huge, it still makes a difference. There is definitely more pull from over 2000 revs and I can feel the extra torque. 3rd gear seems a great improvement.

Will post the graphs up once I get them emailed from Superchips.

Bluefin release is expected in about 1 month after they have done some more refining on the map.

IMO a little bit more is better than all out for power.
Remember it's got to last you.
I'd be interested on how your MPH is doing after the remap.

Hi,

Just re read the thread again and noticed 229Bhp at standard, is that using 98/99 RON petrol.
357Nm's is about spot on for standard.

Yes been using only Shell V Power. They did 4 runs as standard and all were very similar.

MPH has not changed yet. I did a bit of overtaking on some country lanes, and 3rd gear felt so much more responsive.

Will have to keep an eye on MPG. Averaged 28 for the 200 odd miles done today. It was 32 on the way up, 25 after the dyno testing and 28 by the time I got home. Will need a few weeks to see how that changes....to be fair the only way it will go is down, as putting your foot down gives you a bigger smile!

After reading "save fuel on turbo diesels or your money back" and "up to 30% more torque and more power" on their site, I'm wondering what the downsides are. It sounds like something I'd definitely consider for my 2.0tdi.

No not seen this. Superchips say they are not done with the map so will be interested to see how far this gets. They definitely think they can get more bhp out of it and there is a flat spot around 3200 rpm which they want to sort out (on both standard and remapped). They want a car for a few days to spend some more development time on.

It is interesting to see that the APR stock figures are vastly different to what Superchips measured mine at over 4 dyno runs. So a simple comparison of the 2, I would still take the Superchips version.

The thing that really appeals to me with Bluefin is I can take it off as and when I need to.
