After that it found few stations but they're all in grey and couldn't select them. I tried tuning the stations, seek + and -, I even set the radio to factory setting but no radio station is found.

Did that sound I heard in the first place meant some part inside the radio has blown? Or is it something to do with the antenna?

Can anyone help me with this issue please. Thanks
    Hi,

Sounds suspiciously like it may be the same problem reported here. Stop using your rear screen washer immediately, and check the radio/amp/nav modules in the boot behind the panel on the left for water ingress.

    Good luck!

    Update on my car:

I got a call from the dealer just before lunch to say they had completed the software update, but they asked if they could leave installing the map update until a later time to eliminate any possibility of this having a bearing on the issue. They want me to test the car over the next few days and report back on whether the radio retuning/TMC dropout/TP dropout problems have been cured (which is quite handy as I'm off on a long drive South on Sunday night, which previously would illuminate the problem nicely). I've now switched TP back on, so fingers crossed...

For anyone interested, here are the reported software version numbers:

    Before the update: HNav_EU_K0022_2_D1
    After the update: HNav_EU_K0031_3_D1

Having seen A8 Tech's report on the problems specifically addressed by this update, I'm confidently optimistic it will cure our cars' problems!

    Wish me luck!!!

Hi MFGF, thanks for the quick reply. I've just checked tha compatment and yes there was a bit of water but I don't think it's the back wiper's water who caused it, but rather I used my power washer the night before it happened and because I remember spraying in that bottom left area of the back bumper, through the towing back hole, the water's gone in through the very thin air vanes in that compartment.

The CD, bluetooth and the rest of the MMI components are working fine. Do you have an idea please as to what I need to do now? Is it a fuse that would have to change or is it more serious than that?

    Thanks

I honestly don't know, sorry. I've not had this problem with my cars (they have all been saloons) so I have no experience of what is required in fixing it.

I'd suggest that you post a new thread in the A6 C6 forum asking for advice (here) - it will give your issue greater visibility. You may not get many folks who can be bothered to read through to the end of a thread as large as this one!

    Good luck!

    Hi all,

The latest results look *VERY* promising. I did a 170-mile trip from home to Bracknell today with TP enabled in the radio settings, and the radio/TMC/TP behaved perfectly! The radio retuned itself as it should, TMC remained enabled throughout the journey (and rerouted me at one point to avoid traffic delays) and TP bulletins came through too.

As a bonus, the voice prompt issues on the nav seem to be fixed too - a back-to-back test with GolferPete's A4 (which has not had the Revision T fix applied) showed differences in the voice prompts at a roundabout known to cause issues - his car still showed inaccurate voice prompts whereas my car provided accurate prompts...

I will continue to monitor things for the next few days, and report back my findings...

    Cheers!

    MF.

Still no problems to report. My 170-mile journey home last night saw the car behaving as it should, with no signs of the old radio/tmc/tp issues, and still providing accurate voice prompts at every junction/roundabout.

I'm now pronouncing this problem as definitely fixed! The Master Tech at my dealership will be very relieved when I let him know!!

    Cheers!

I also had the update on Wednesday, and it works fine for me. No dropped TMC, stopping of automatic radio retuning and confusion with roundabouts.

Hi am new to the site so appologies if I am writing in the wrong area.
I have just bought 2010 59plate A6 Le Mans 3G MMI basic. Used to have the 57 plate A4 Avant (satnav). I am a loud music fan. The radio and media is not as loud as my old A4. I have read some articles about hidden menus - can I increase the top volume in these? Or is there any other ideas. Thanks
