SD cards are the data container for MMI 3G HDD, rather than DVDs. The rich data content of the MMI 3G system makes this necessary.

My car is in at the dealers today for a "software and navigation update". I don't know if this will include the new maps or not - I will report back with results once I have the car back.

Thanks once more A8 - you are spot on as usual! I saw the Master Tech when I collected the car, and he reported that there were no official updates that could be applied at the moment. All this means nothing was done to the car today, although an update disc is being sent to the dealer for my car. It's not an official software release, but rather "a prototype" (as the Master Tech described it to me) to be tried out to see if it fixes the problem.

I'm happy to field test it and report back, so once the disc arrives at the dealers, the car will go back in to be updated.

Given that we have had to put up with 18 months of "now turn left" and "now take the 2nd left" and no dynamic re-routing if TP is on, the least, and I mean least, that Audi CS could do is to offer us the new maps FOC, as a gesture of goodwill.
