Anyone have any advice on the sensibleness of using wheels with an offset of 35mm on a mk3 '97 Golf GT 1.9 TDi? I believe the standard offset was 45mm with a 185/60/14 tire. The 35mm offset wheels would also be 185/60/14. Let's assume, for the moment, there are no rubbing or clearance problems.
Would I likely notice any difference in handling? Steering might be stiffer, perhaps? Cornering? More "kick-back" from bumps? Or, more to the point, is it unsafe? Thank you!
