I have a dry bearing noise coming from the front top of engine. I can see some sort of pulley behind a black plastic cover where the noise is originating from. Does anyone know what this could be?

Sounds like the tensioner / deflection roller for the belt that drives the high pressure fuel pump that sits in the middle of the engines 'V'.

Thats fairly accessible, so if you do have a dry bearing, it not a huge job to do.

Just make sure its definitely coming from top end, as there is 2 or 3 rollers that control the auxilleries belt. They are located fairly well down on the engine at the front. Noises can 'travel'.

None of these rollers are prone to early failure, so I am just covering all bases.
