    Hi all,

I have been wishing to change my cambelt. Just recently notice that when I start my car cold, the front of the engine makes a swishing sound, then fine after about 1 minute. Would that be a sign of failing tensioner? or belt stretching? Are these engines non-interference, reason I am asking is that I am due to drive up to Oxford in the next week and may not have the time to change. It has done 96000 miles, the belt was changed at 45000 miles, but about 10 years ago!!! What is worrying me is the age of the belt rather than the milaege.

    Please help!!

Get it changed. I think the noise maybe the tensioners, Which any kit should replace. I had a Citroen and the belt was 8 years old and the belt was very perished and cracked

    Thanks for the help,

Will phone someone tomorrow to see if he is still interested in the job, if not it is going to either Indie or Dealer.

    Thanks
