    Hi All,
i have a 2007 2.0 tdi multitronic with 5000 miles on the clock.
For 99% of the time it is a delight to drive, but very occasionaly when in traffic at say 10-15 mph and also when slowing to a standstill the running becomes very erratic /jerky,almost like the engine cannot quite decide what it should be doing. When this occures when stationary the idle is also erratic fluctuating between approx 800-1100 revs.
I think that i may have read somewhere on this forum regarding a software update ,but i am not sure what specific problem this reffered to.
The car has been into the dealers twice in the past for this problem ,each time with no fault found.
    Any thoughts would be appriciated.Thanks.

This problem is caused by insufficient torque and excessive egr, depending on your engine ecu software version it may be within the criterion for the sw update referring to this issue. If possible post the engine ecu details and engine code and i may be able to determine if there are any relevant sw solutions. You can only give the information i require with a diagnostic print out from the dealer or a vag com scan

Thanks A8 tech for your reply. The car is going into the dealers on wednesday so if they can find no problem i guess if i ask for a printout they should give me a copy, shouldent they?

Yes just ask the service receptionist for a diagnostic print out,i would hope the dealer finds any relevant sw updates or finds a fault.Regards A8
