A2 Glass sunroof parts needed

My glass sunroof mechanism stopped working after a couple of small components snapped. The total cost of the parts is around £50 although Audi tell me that the sunroof comes as a whole mechanism with a cost of around £1,200!

Does anyone know where I might be able to find suitable parts - or possibly the whole mechanism for less?

You could also try some specialist German sites - to see if this sort of thing can be sourced. Pictures of the components and possible part numbers would help.

Hi guys

I have the same trouble with my sunroof. It started "stuttering" and didn't close completly. Luckily, it wasn't raining.
I went to the Audi garage and they told me that the mecanism was broken. However, they close the roof without charging me.
The parts needed are about £900 and they need 5 hours to take the whole roof down to replace the mecanism.
Total cost around £1600.

I can't afford that kind of money. I have been scouring the Net to find parts from salvage companies without success.
If you have a link or info, that would be nice. I will keep you informed if I do find the parts I need.
