I have collected my A5 today 2.0tdi 170PS (Non-quattro) and I have never had so much torque steer on a car before.

Reason for asking the question in the A4 Section is that I would be waiting forever and a day on the A5 Section for an answer!!

So have any 170PS owners out there experienced the same, Any advise would be good

I had a 2.0TDI (143ps) for half a day on a test drive and noticed how much it torque steered and that was the lower powered engine.
knowing that the 2.0T FSI had the same Nm's as the 170ps tdi and that it would react more I opted for the Quattro.
My Golf GTI had little torque steer for such a powerful engine.

The other thing I noticed was how much pull / steer it had when overtaking and crossing the white lines...

It may go away if I buy some quattro badges

onemanparty.... you need to change your tag line after your name!

IT SHOULD READ: "I WISH I HAD QUATTRO"

not "Wish YOU had a quattro!"

ahh.. the irony of smug names!

Your funny. I have had a quattro so why should I change it. One last chance to drive a coupe before I'm 50 so I had to take the A5 now. Come 9 to 12 months A4 allroad or maybe back to the A4 B8 3.0TDI quattro sline I had!!!

Anyway don't think you can help with the question your to busy at the petrol station now

Is it worse that the cars you test drove? Perhaps theres a slight soft tyre or something like that?

However I've a suspicion that you may find it's normal.

The FWD A4 and A5 do seem to suffer a lot .... although there do seem to be people in denial.

If I couldn't have quattro, I genuilley wouldn't have bought an A4. I've got the FWD due to their **** up and I know it's money well spent....although others may tickle the throttle or be better drivers than I am
