Hi there newbie here - could do with some help with the a4 i have just bought......
Fan comes on immediatly at startup and never switches off (not aircon fan). It is not a viscous fan, it is an electric fan.
The Temp on gauge stays about 60 unless on a drive it goes up to 65. The climate control codes for 49 (coolant temp)say 60 degrees and 51 (engine temp)says 90.
I have just replaced the ect sensor and it made no difference at all - could it be the fan switch or relay sticking, or could it just be the trusty thermostat ???
    There are no warning lights

In advance , thanks for all input

So you mean the smaller fan on the right hand side of the radiator, not the larger viscous coupled fan?

No, the fan should windmill all the time, you will be in no doubt should it kick in, the roar and air rush from the bay is unmistakable!

No problem, I don’t need the chassis number now as I don’t think I need to look up the relay numbers for you to start pulling them out. Delete your chassis number now.
