Water pump raplacement

Hello All,

I presume that a few people have had to replace the water pump on an A4 Avant 2.0 Sline 05 before. When i was in the audi garage for the free MOT i over heard the servicing guy speaking to a customer stating that they need a new water pump and the cam belt changed for £950.00.

How much have people been paying for this repair outside an Audi dealer???

I think my water pump is on the way out but i aint paying £950. joke

It shouldn't be too difficult to find a saving on main dealer labour rates.

Haven't had one done but even allowing around £300-350 for genuine pump, belt, tensioner roller and coolant an independent should change a pump for much less than the remainder.

My local audi main dealer advised,cambelt £329 all in, water pump £35 for pump £20 for fuids and £45 labour if done with cambelt, total circa £450 all in.

perhaps it depends what engine, for the 2.0tdi i believe it's about £250 for the belt and tensioner kit and about £90 for a genuine pump!
