Most impressed with your write up, but could you tell me what the Bluetooth mobile phone reception and functionality is like? I'm going off the idea of a 9060 kit with the stick on screen that looks very aftermarket!
    TIA

I no longer have the Parrot kit I'm afraid - it stayed in the Passat as I couldn't get it out

Reception, however, was fine - it depends on your handset - not the BT kit.

Hope you told your insurance otherwise you may have invalidated your insurance and your warranty. Petty maybe but INS companies need no excuse and do apply the policies strictly these days!

Just poking my nose in, but I too looked at the Parrot and Bury kits, but didn't like anything stuck on the dash, so I've gone for the genuine VW Bluetooth kit, that plugs into the 310 or 510 radios. The man is coming from vwcruise.com next week. It only works on the 310 if you have the multifunciton steering wheel and hi-line computer, because it needs the hi-line screen to display the phone book. On the 510 radios it displays on the radio. It ain't cheap though at £470 and services 95 per cent of mobile phones. We shall see!

    £470? Wow - that's a lot...

Sticking things in the middle of the dash can be pretty untidy which is why I put mine over to the right - it worked better being in reach of my right hand and reduced stretching too:

Ok, it's a night shot, but that's the only photo I seem to have of the Parrot kit with the dash all lit up - the colours all matched up too

I think we are at cross purposes - I thought the Clarion offered bluetooth mobile phone connectivity - and that's what I was asking about?

Ahhh - Yes, it does, but it needs an optional component to do so and I don't have that component.

I recently bought a 2010 Golf 6 and loving it! I stay in South Africa. As you all know, the default radio is very borring.... I did some research on the internet and found some nice systems for quite cheap. FYI, please visit www.stopshop.co.za or www.szwaywell.com, there are many others as well, just Google.

In any case, i bought a system similar to the WD6050 from www.szwaywell.com. Have anyone of you tried/bought/installed some of these systems? In any case, I love the system, it has many functionalities, but I seem to have one problem which I can't explain. The unit works for about 2 days, then it wont start up anymore. I have isolated the problem, I need to do a power reset on the system, meaning either unplug and replug the radio's power or briefly removing the radio's fuse in the fuse box compartment, then it works fine again for another 2 days or so before i need to do the same. This is very annoying. Have anyone had a similar problem? What do you think could cause this and how could one solve this?

Do I need to do changes/modifications to the Canbus system?
