I have just bought a used 52 registered Octavia Laurin & Klement and I am puzzled by a switch on the dash just above the radio. In the handbook it is shown as either ESP or TCS "depending on the system fitted". My car is fitted with a switch labelled ASR and there is no reference to an ASR anywhere in the handbook. When pressed it lights up a warning light on the instrument panel like a warning triangle with an arrow round it. The same symbol used by both ESP and TCS.
Can anyone enlighten me as to what my car is fitted with?

Secondly the handbook refers to a seperate instruction handbook for the CD autochanger, that isn't there. Any idea if it is available from Skoda?

    Thanks for any help.

It is a lesser version on ESP called Anti Slip Regulation and is basically to stop wheel spin under acceleration by reducing the power output and braking the front wheels to help calm wheel spin.

The autochanger should be in the boot as it was standard on the L&K but is often taken out by the previous owner as they think they can sell it for a lot. These are easy to pick up from a scarp yard specialising in VAG cars as Passat’s, Polo’s, Golf’s etc used the same unit. When I bought my 03 Octavia VRS Estate the changer was missing and I picked one up for Ł30. One thing though, I think mine was taken out due to water damage. Under the changer bracket there is a connection for the rear washer jet and it blows off, filling this area with water and damaging the electrical connections that are there. Check the area for water first.
