Hi there folks, looking for advice on where to purchase replacement bolts which attach rear brake caliper to carrier on car. I'm having trouble taking off the bolt as it seems to have seized. I've read a few threads that suggest heating them but the trouble is once they are off it's most likely they wont go back on because the bolt itself seems a bit worn and ratchet doesn't have anything to grip on to. So if anyone has any idea what size I need and where to get them could you let me know, Cheers, Kerry

On a B8 Audi A4? If the bolt is worn I would be asking why? Does the bolt stand proud of the caliper (My A4 is on the drive but I don't feel like crawling on the floor to see for myself)If so could you file some flats into the bolt so that a smaller socket would fit? Alternatively I would be taking it back to the delaership and asking why the bolt is worn; unless you have done that yourself.

Thanks for your reply but apparently i got the description wrong, it's not the bolt that attaches the caliper to carrier, its the one that holds the carrier in place. There are 2 bolts holding the carrier on, 1 top and 1 bottom. They have torque heads on them. They have rotted and need replacing. So looking to buy 4, I was only wondering what size they were so I could order/buy them before changing them.

B8 is the model year 2008 onwards.

You're in the wrong A4 forum, you need to be the B5 section
