When I had my Golf and was on another forum, we quite regularly had regional mini meets where people would take vagcom along and sort things out!

These kind of meets were fantastic and you could also have a good chat about the running of your cars etc.

Anyway, as there seem to be loads and loads of faults on here at the moment that require a scan, this is a feeler to gauge interest in having a mini meet sometime.

I'm based in Miadenhead Berkshire so would obviously like the meet to be as near as possible (afterall I do have vagcom LOL). The best time for these meets I think is a weekday evening as it then doesn't mess up the weekend.

So, please express your interest and note that any car in VW group can be scanned, even Bentley's and Lambo's !!! (i think...not that owners of such exotica would be interested).

As well as fault codes, various setting can also be changed, such as alarm beeps, auto locking etc etc.

I matched keys with VAG-COM, but you do need the SKC code. which I had for my car. On older car there is a plastic keyfob with a scartch panel with the code....usually lost by the original owner

As bigcol said you can get software to read the code, but its very expensive.

Assuming you chaps are at other ends of the country, maybe you could set up and arrange similar meets.

For me, a reasonable area would be; West London, East Berks, South Bucks, North Hamps and South Oxon.

Depends on how far peeps are willing to travel, but an evening meet for an hour or two works well in my experience as I can't give up my weekend !

Sounds good now that the evenings are longer.

South East area here. Lots of advance notice though, mainly so I can pull the required info from the Ross-Tech site.

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

I live in High Wycombe, just down the road from Maidenhead. Would love to meet up and get my A3 checked over on the VAGCom.

Let me know when a date and location is confirmed.

    Regards,

    Teg

I may be wrong but Swindon looks at the south west rather than in it..... I am also in the south west, but there a good 200 miles between us...

Seroiusly though an evening meet would be fine but i doubt it would attract anyone further than plymouth from where I live .
