Hi

The cental bracket on my exhaust (just behind the central join between the front and rear parts of the system) has begun to rattle. My problem, having been under the car a couple of times, is that I can't be sure how the exhaust should sit in (or on?) the rubber mounted bracket;

The bracket is a "half hexagon" shape. There are what appear to be a couple of welds on either side of the exhaust which I believe the purpose of which are to help the bracket support the exhaust. However I don't know quite how the exhaust should sit in or on the bracket. One possibility is that the exhaust could be pulled down so that the welds are wedged within the bracket, however to do so requires significant force and if incorrect is likely to also put strain on other joints in the system.

Any thoughts welcome.

Cheers
