    hey

    Is the A4 tdi and the A4 tdi quattro the same?because im getting a full A4 tdi n reg with the head gasket gone he thinks??? ive checked to see if the oil and water mixing but no signs of that,he's saying before he parked it up the car blowing a lot of black smoke and soot and passers by saw flames coming out the exhaust,also the oil looks very thick.is it worth buying if so how much is it be worth like that?

    Unless you're prepared to spend a lot of money, stay away from it! I love working on cars with problems like this and I know from experience it will cost a lot of money! Oil and coolant doesn't always have to be mixing to have a blown headgasket it could be leaking between cylinders or just blowing combustion gases into your crankcase or cooling system!
    On the other hand it could be just dirty or leaking injectors or an injection pump fault but you could be spending a lot of money just diagnosing the problem and you might still be told the wrong thing as there's not much talent out there when it comes to diagnosing!
    VW-AUDI-SKODA Automotive Technician used to be a mechanic years ago!

    hi benzev,thanx for that yeah i'll keep away from that then,anyways ive just bought my very first audi its a tdi quattro 1.9 and im just confused is it different from the 1.9 tdi's? also ive noticed just by the fuel pipes that theres some small spark plugs, would i need to replace them with a regular service?

    Those are the glowplugs and they only need to be replaced when they fail usually noticeable by your vehicle getting harder to start particularly in winter obviously!
    VW-AUDI-SKODA Automotive Technician used to be a mechanic years ago!
