Over the last couple of days my A4 1.9TDI has developed what feels like the turbo cutting out. I'm doing say 70mph and all of a sudden it feels like the car deaccelerates and then further acceleration becomes very sluggish. I can get back in the car say 15 minutes later and everything seems fine again. So what ever the problem is, its there some of the time. By the way the car has done over 115,000 miles and apart from this has been totally reliable from when I had it from new in 2003. What needs to be done to correct this and is it an expensive fix.

Cheers, thanks for any help on this.

You need to get a fault code read done and this will probably come up with code 17965, over boost.

Crasher is right, my car does this on long journeys, and was told by the mechanic it is the boost control switch that needs changing. He never told me if it is an expensive job but I presume it wont be that expensive to get the job done.
