S Reg Passat Gamma Radio problems

Does anybody know the procedure for entering the security code for this radio??
I've just changed my battery, I have the code, but not the entry procedure, last thing I wasnt is to have to wait an hour per attempt.

As I bought my passat second hand (as usual) no radio handbook...



Does anyone know it?

Press the FM1 and AM buttons simaltaneously,1000 flashes and using preset station numbers 1-4(1000)use each button to enter the code for each number e.g. number 1 is for first number of code 2 for second and so on.If your code is 2234 then press button no1 twice till 2 is displayed then button no2 till 2 is displayed button 3 3 times till 3 is displayed and button four 4 times till 4 is displayed.To end press AM1 and the ARI-Z button simaltaneously and this should allow the radio to work.If you enter the code incorrectly 3 times the radio locks up for 1 hour before you can start again.
