    Hi,

My VR5 seems to be quite thirsty for oil. It doesnt leak any (no puddles left on floor after being sat) and I cant see any blue smoke atall, and was wondering if anyone maybe able to suggest some possible reasons? I dont know huge amounts about cars, and there may well be many differing possible causes, but having just forked out the best part of £700 for various fixes for other ailments, I am now a bit worried it could be something major? Any pointers/suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Miles

    Hello fellow VR5 owner...

Just how much oil are you losing / using / burning?

If it requires topping up a bit once a fortnight (and you're not noticing it causing a problem in performance) I wouldn't do anything about it.

If you're having to fill it up once a week - I suggest you're burning the oil - check out of your back window under heavy acceleration - there may be a little black smoke. That being the case I would take to somewhere pretty sharpish (Oil leaking into cylinders)

I've had a referbished head put on mine (12 Months ago) and it fits in the first catagory.

    Cheers
    Lee
