Hi all, recently posted some q's about the A6 Avant that i wish to buy. Now I may be overlly fussy about these things, but having visited a few Audi dealers in the Midlands i am dissapointed at the quality of the cars on offer.

Most if not all of the ones I have viewed are 2-3 years old with less than 30k miles. Without exception all have had either numerous paint scratches, some down to the metal, curbed wheels and or stains/marks on the interior. This does not inspire confidence to purchase.

When I point these defects to the cars sales staff say '"we'll get them done when you buy the car". It's been a while since I last purchased a used car so is this me being super picky or is this usual nowadays?

Loved the car and the way it drives though.... guess the hard bit will be finding the right one.

My problem when looking at getting a used approved was the choice, local dealers were chock full of the cars I didn't want, ended up going 120 mile away for the right car, but when I got there was a little disappointed at the grubby interior.

Having said that it was gleaming when the car was delivered, they had obviously done a lot more work prepping it for delivery than they did to put it on the forecourt. The interior was a big difference, paint and scuffs weren't so bad to start with.

Makes sense really, why put the effort and money into a car that may sit there for x weeks.

At the end of the day you are buying a used car, if you want everything gleaming and spotless you either have a long search for a pampered car or get a new one.

I just pressumed 'Approved' stood for something over and above the usual tatty and neglected cars for sale elsewhere.

Having said that just had a dealer contact me to tell me about an '07 plate 2.0tdi with 18k and auto for £15k which he describes as 'mint'.

I will go and see the car and if i like it will make an offer. Which brings me on to the subject of prices, anyone have any idea what discount to expect to achive off of the sticker price??
