AC/CC Stuck on Economy Mode

Hi,

I have an Audi A4 2.0FSI SE (2003) and the climate control is stuck on Economy Mode. I reckon this means it's not air conditioning it's just acting like a traditional fan heater. Perhaps this means there is a fault.

I went to my local garage and they said go to Kwik Fit. I went to Kwik Fit they said we can change the gas but don't know if that will fix the problem.

I have been made redundant and can't aford a trip to the official Audi dealers. It is always very expensive.

Any advice? I have no car knowledge.

Oh there's another fault which may or may not be related. The remote locking only works intermittently. I often have to use the key to unlock the car rather than the button.

If its stuck in ECON then you probably have a gas leak, the car will switch off the system if the pressure is too low/non-existant.

If you have no car knowledge then you need to find an air-con specialist to diagnose the fault.
