Can anyone suggest a fix for my T4, it lacks power and acceleration, it has just had new air filter, heater plugs (it did not want to start) and diesel filter. The air filter helped a bit but it still under performs and appears to use a lot of fuel £20 for 50 miles?? Going up hill means changing down the gearbox. Someone suggested the airflow meter but there isn't one.

Not sure what that means? I know it is turbo though. How can I tell if it is spooling up?

Never found any of the T4 1.9's to have much go, non-turbo we had in work years ago (new in 1992) was pathetic - used to hate driving the bloody thing! As time went on, we had 2.4 5cyls which went quite well. When they were being serviced we used to get '888 Special' courtesy vans, apparently these were turbo'd but there was no discernable 'boost' to speak of. I have heard of people turning the boost and the fuel pump up and getting another 20bhp from them, not had any experience of this myself though.
I think you need to check that the turbo is actually boosting, even though the boost pressure is quite low, its bound to help!
My lasting impression of 1.9 T4's is not a good one, sorry guys!
