Notchy gearbox anyone??

Hi Folks

Just took delivery of a new 09 2.0 tdi s-line about 4 weeks ago. On the whole very pleased (the interior is a class above above my old 05 2.0 s-line). The only down side is that I'm finding the gearbox a bit notchy. It takes a bit of force getting into gear - seems to be worse changing down into lower gears, especially going into 1st when pulling up to junctions etc.

Anybody else finding this with the new model or am I being too critical and just live with it??

the general consensus seems to be "yes, it is notchy and yes it gets better"
I found my gearbox notchy too, especially getting into the low gears.
Now, however at 7000 miles it seems just fine.

Jop - Many thanks for the thread.

Surprised it seems such a common problem with the B8. The car just turned 1k miles yesterday, I'll give it a few more months so hopefully things will get better.
