I have recently started hearing a knocking noise as I turn the steering to the left especially if the road surface is rough (usually is).

Garage has shown me the fault and there is a slight play in one of the upper control arms near the shock absorber (Driver side at the front).

The question is: Tha car has done 77K and therefore I was wondering whether I need to change all control arms or just that one. Bearing in mind the retail price at VW for one of the upper arm is £70!!

Also I am constantly having to go on a curb on the driver side in order to park my car in the garage at home.

As usual your advice is much appreciated.

You don't have to, however once one goes........

You can get kits for ~200 quid with all the arms in. Fitting shouldn't be more than a few hours if you can get a good indy to do it for you.
Nothing to see here, move along..

Do you know of a place where I can buy the kit from? VW is too expensive.
