    I've got a code 16497 (P0113) Intermittent, from a shareware VAGCOM version which I believe is to do with a Low Temp of some sort. Engine is running giving variable unprdictable flat spots. The car is a 2000 B5 Passat 1.8T Sport.

    Anyone havefurther info on this fault? Anyone local to Kettering (NN15) with full VAGCOM who could help investgate

    Two very comprehensive writeups here;

    http://www.bba-reman.com/content.asp...NEXT_DTC_P0113

    http://www.obd-codes.com/p0113

    Both procedures, I think, can be done with the shareware version

    Sam, thanks for the info.

    Just a note, if it is a failed the Intake Air Temp, is this the hot wire sensor or is there another one to track down?

    It's the hot wire sensor, you're correct.

    The IAT is "in" the MAF

    I've edit this post so many darn times!

    My limited understanding tells me it's not the MAF, but it is a part of the MAF. Too many terms to describe the same thing.

    Replacing the MAF seems the easiest route to take but someone else may have another idea.

    To clarify it is the sensor that sits in the airflow just up from the throttle body into the intake plenum on the 1.8T engine?
