I need some mats for my 04 Passat.

Does anyone have any suggestions where I can get some official VW mats.

Had a quick look on ebay, but there seems to be lots of copies and nothing else.

I want the carpet mats, not rubber, and it's a grey interior, so would like grey mats if possible.

    Thanks

I recently bought a set of 4 from the dealers for £46 inc vat, these are the genuine higher quality carpet mats and are held in place by plastic securing pegs. I personally wouldn't bother with non genuine ones as they never fit as well and they rarely come with securing clips so end up moving about.

Got an official VW set that fit the plastic posts on the floor, important for saftey as you don't really want a mat caught around your pedals. Cost about £38 from my local main dealer.

Tosh. Never every had a normal mat ride up and snake around my pedals. I could make holes in my £4.99 set, but they don't move at all. Just a money spinner for VW. You're just trying to justify spending a massive £10 odd PER MAT. At that price and for the size I could use Egyptian silk rugs cut to size.
And being rubber they don't soak up water and add to the steamy windows/general dampness in the car. And they are easy to clean.

OK, personal preference to keep things safer. My wife regularly pushed her driver's side after market mat forwards behind the pedals getting in and out of her Toledo. Dealer mat set (for Golf MK 4) cost £18 (OK half price of a B5 mat set), look good, better quailty and anchored correctly.

Besides what price the regret of a claim, injury or worse to your family or other road users IF it did happen?

I guess we're on 2 sides of the same fence.

Fair enough if your wife rucked them up - I can see you'd want to keep her safe.
I'm the only one allowed to drive mine as it's a Taxi.

    Thanks mate - PM Sent.

It's a personal thing, I much prefer the carpet mats. I hate rubber mats.

When I used to work with taxis (controlling / managing - not driving, lol), understandably, everyone had them.

Yep I put them in all my taxis. (never met a good controller that wasn't a driver for a few years first - infact I've just been advertising for another controller and only found one person out of 32 that applied that could do the job. I guess satnav is to blame)
